Synopsis by Lenka Tyrpáková

Elpida is a housewife confronted with the first signs of menopause while trapped in a loveless marriage to a heartless, despotic man. Her solitary life consists of stereotypical activities, which she carries out with humility and resignation. Together with the physical changes to her body, however, her mind and her perception of reality are also gradually affected as long suppressed desires and needs come to the surface… In her muted psychological drama the debuting director addresses the recurring theme of the position of women in a patriarchal society. The formally mature film is dominated by a subtle, superbly nuanced performance from Stela Fyrogeni, who enables the viewer to experience Elpida’s internal struggle firsthand.
